September 3, 2014. Mystic, CT: Rear Admiral Steve Branham, USCG (Retired) has joined the ranks of 3ethos as a Co‐founder and Executive Vice President. He will be working alongside Don Trone (3ethos’ Founder and CEO) with the delivery of leadership training programs for elite financial advisors, which are being conducted at West Point, NY. In addition, he will be assisting with the development and promulgation of professional standards which integrate the three metrics ‐ leadership, stewardship and governance. (See attached, The Third Wave – Leadership is the New Fiduciary.)
Steve retired from the U.S. Coast Guard after a very distinguished 37‐year career which included command of the Seventh Coast Guard District (the busiest Coast Guard District for search and rescue and law enforcement); and, serving as “the CFO” of the Coast Guard, and as the Commanding Officer of four Coast Guard cutters. His infographic is attached.
Don and Steve were classmates at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, both graduating in 1977. Don reached out to Steve in June of this year to see if he would have an interest in reviewing and editing a new book* which Don was writing with Mary Lou Wattman (the second Co‐founder and EVP of 3ethos). After reviewing the draft, Steve indicated that the book’s message resonated with his concepts of leadership. That remark led to additional discussions about the vision and mission of 3ethos, and eventually to an offer for Steve to join the firm.
